Westby-Nunn

Klippe Rivier was owned briefly by Nick Acker (1977 to 1982), George Skeat (1982 to 1987) and Ronald Mylchreest (1987 to 1990). In 1990 it was bought by theWestby-Nunn family. Their purchase was inspired by Molly D'Arcy Thompsons delightful book, "Forgotten Corners of the Cape". In 1990 the Westby-Nunns set about looking for Klippe Rivier and were fortunate to find it for sale and negotiated its purchase in 1991. They lived at Klippe Rivier with their family and spent 2 years extensively restoring the homestead before opening Klippe Rivier as a Country House in 1993. The house did not have a single item of furniture in it in 1991, but has carefully been refurnished with the Westby-Nunn collection, as well as according to the various eras of ownership from the original Cape Dutch, Victorian, Colonial, Edwardian, Art Deco to more Comtemporary styles.
